 Toshiba Satellite L500-1XC 2010-08-21 This is an excellent bit of kit, typical solid build from Toshiba. primarily bought this notebook for my wife to study and use for her investigation work. however, I also use it for playing movies direct to the TV, the HDMI connection makes this completeley effortless. the powerful processor and sufficient memory make this Notebook very versitile. For the price, its a bargain ! | ||
 Great Quality Great Price 2010-08-06 I was bought this as my first laptop...... I went to a friend who knew alot about alot n asked him to find me the best at £400.... I wasn't disappointed this is better than the one he has and at my budget. Once i unwrapped my beauty I was even more impressed very fast and no hassle. | Good overall quality but some issues with video drivers 2010-04-21 Good specs and quality for the price. The usual Toshiba software suites which might be useful for some people but not if you know what you're doing. The only real issue so far is with the video drivers for Intel's HD Graphics card (which is ok otherwise) in what concerns OpenGL: Blender's interface is not working perfectly. Maybe at some point Intel & Toshiba will update the drivers appropriately. DVD play is very good with very good image quality. Sound quality though is really crappy: think about getting some active speakers. Win7 32 works very well on it. Linux does not yet support the Core iX platforms very well, but that will change soon. Overall, very happy with this machine. | ||
