 do not waste your money 2010-08-17 I have had many laptops over the years, but this must be the worst I've ever had. Within a week the keyboard started malfunctioning. It produces different characters to the keys pressed, locks up of its own accord, refuses to load windows - in short I have spent hours trying to get it to work - a complete disaster. Save your money and get a laptop that works. This is a hunk of old metal. By the way it's been given 1 star since the programme won't let me give it none. | ||

| Acer aspire 5532 2010-05-11 I bought this laptop on the 26 Feb all ok until the 15 April when the blue screen of death appeared and keyboard stopped working,Sent it back to Acer who put in a new hard drive,returned to me over a week later and lasted one day the the blue screen appeared and it kept closing down,sent it back to acer again ,returned it with some updating done to it that's was last Thursday and buy Friday the blue screen was back and the cursor had stopped working.So i was to return it again on Monday i was really angry by this time,so on Sunday i rang Amazon and explained what had happened and they said i could return it to them and get full refund,which i thought was very nice of them. I have had Acers before and they have not lasted more than 18 months so i am steering well clear of them from now on. But thanks once again for a great service from Amazon | ||
 Fine, If you're on a low budget 2010-05-06 Bought one of these a couple of months ago after having accidentally killed my Toshiba. I needed a replacement quickly but, had only limited funds in the kitty as I was due to go on holiday. This seemed like a bargain due to the 4gb memory and 500gb hard drive, I wasn't bothered by the lack of web cam as I never use one. I can report that it has been....................adequate, but nothing special. The build quality leaves much to be desired even at this price point, the keyboard gives me the feeling that it won't last long before problems set in, sound quality and volume levels are both dreadful, so if you play lot's of music or watch movies on a laptop look elsewhere. On mine you only have to look at the power cable for it to drop out which is really annoying, especially if you don't notice until Windows low power warning kicks in. Overall it just feels cheap, which let's face it, it is. Consider saving for a better model if you have the patience, or the income to make the saving process short and painless, but if needs must then buy with the knowledge that there are much better options out there, I'll no doubt replace this by the end of the year. | ||
