 good times do not last 2010-01-20 MY ACER 5315 IS NOW TWO YEARS OLD. ALL WENT WELL FOR 18 MONTHS THEN CD ROM DRIVE GAVE UP.HAD TO BUY EXTERNAL H/DRIVE. FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS SCREEN KEEPS FLICKERING AND SHUTTING DOWN.MY FREIND HAS SAME MODEL AND IS ON THIRD POWER CABLE. ACER WANT £54.OO JUST TO LOOK AT IT AND WILL THEN TELL YOU HOW MUCH IT WILL COST TO REPAIR. I THINK NOT!!! A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS INTO COMPUTERS SAYS HE NEVER HAS TO REPAIR TOSHIBA LAPTOPS.I SHALL SHOP ELSEWHERE NEXT TIME. | ||

| Great Laptop, if only the screen worked!? 2009-11-30 This laptop is brilliant, and I should know, I have now owned four of them. I have been a great defender of the Acer series and its budget entry level products. This laptop is no different, it does exactly what it says on the tin and to be honest much much more. HOWEVER... the same cannot be said for the screen, two of the machines have been replaced due to the screens being totally unuseable and the two machines my wife and I now have are now having similar problems. As my dear mother-in-law would say "buy cheap, buy twice!" Actually she would normally say I am no good for her darling daughter and why don't I grow up but that is another story. Anyhow, nice laptop, and you may be lucky and not have these screen issues, or my laptops are from a bad batch? Who knows, Happy Christmas! | ||
 Faulty and can't get it repaired 2009-05-29 The mouse pad on my laptop is fauly. I would not be so dissatisfied if I could contact them. I tried to contact them two or three times at Christmas in relation to this problem and they ignored my request. I kept getting a message stating if I did not hear from them within two or three days to resend the querey. I don't see the point in constantly resending my querey as it must be going to an e-mail address that isn't manned. After all, even a dog would learn quickly enough that they are not getting the desired response from their actions! I am now trying to log the same querey on line as I am fed up with this fault, however, when I try to log the problem on line I am told the serial number is not right. How can they tell me it's not right when they put it on my machine. If I really hated you I would tell you to buy an Acer laptop!!! And that means they're a really BAD BUY. I guess you get what you pay for. I can only imagine quite shortly the mouse pad will go completely and my laptop will be next to useless and it is not even 1 year old yet. | ||
